When 205 Live started out, the show was performing poorly and WWE needed a drastic change to improve the show’s ratings. WWE added several talents from the NXT roster and even added a General Manger in Drake Maverick hoping that the show will improve. As of last week, 205 Live still continues to perform poorly on the WWE Network and the latest episode finished #10 as the most watched shows on the Network, well behind Mixed Match Challenge, which was also available for free on Facebook. It also finished behind several older PPVs and a twenty year old episode of WCW Thunder.
It was previously reported that WWE was put in a unique situation as far as their upcoming super show in Saudi Arabia is concerned. While the company continues to push their female talent as part of the women’s revolution, in Saudi Arabia, women aren’t allowed to compete. As a result, the company has only promoted that seven championships will be defended and neither the RAW or SmackDown Live Women’s Championships will be on the line. WWE has recently confirmed that their women wrestlers will not be competing at The Greatest Royal Rumble Event by issuing the following statement:
“Women and children are allowed to attend. Female WWE Superstars will not be performing at this year’s event.”
