As reported by L’Équipe last night, Ligue 1 side Brest are in negotiations with AS Monaco to sign 19-year-old winger Valentin Salatiel Decarpentrie.

The two sides have a good relationship, having worked on the transfer of Romain Faivre previously and ASM pleased with the fact that the French youth international will likely make them some considerable cash owing to the sell-on percentage fee clause that they have for him.

SB29 are wanting to offer Decarpentrie a professional contract, he is currently tied to a youth contract with Monaco – originally from Brazil, he arrived in France at the age of 5 and enjoyed pre-season with the Monaco 1st team this summer before returning to the reserves who currently ply their trade in the French 4th division.

Decarpentrie wants to make the move North and negotiations are now on between the two clubs – it is possible that the player could be allowed to join Brest for free but with a considerable sell-on percentage fee clause attached to the transfer.
