Impact Wrestling is getting ready to host their annual Bound for Glory event later on tonight. Prior to the huge event, it has become a tradition to induct a deserving member of the roster into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was originally instituted back in 2012 when Sting became the first inductee. The likes of Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Team 3D, Gail Kim, and Earl Hebner have joined the Hall of Fame over the years. Although there was no inductee for the Hall of Fame last year, the promotion did confirm a while back that there would be a new member prior to this year’s Bound for Glory event. Last night, the newest member of Impact’s Hall of Fame was finally able to take the honor.

When it comes to Impact Wrestling, no one has been as loyal to the promotion over the years as Abyss. The longtime Impact personality has been competing for the promotion as far back as 2002. Over the course of his tenure in Impact, Abyss has captured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, the TNA World Tag Team Championships, the X Division Championship, and the TNA Television Champion. He has feuded against the likes of Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Rob Van Dam, and he even continues to wrestle for the promotion today. Following a brief induction, Abyss was finally able to take his rightful place in the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame during the ceremony that took place in New York last night.

Abyss was inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame yesterday. He was inducted by Father James Mitchell, and he took the time to thank all of the Impact Wrestling originals, as well as all who have helped build the promotion into what it is today. Abyss may be known for his hardcore and brutal in-ring style, but he appeared out of character and without his mask during the induction ceremony. Abyss has been working for Impact since their very first show, so there may not be anybody on the roster more deserving of a spot in the Hall of Fame than him right now. In addition to serving as an active wrestler, Abyss is also a backstage producer and a member of Impact’s creative team. Clips of the speech have been uploaded online.
