According to RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi and West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd missed out on collective training. It is reported that Hakimi has a minor injury which is being managed, whilst Aguerd is more of a concern for Morocco’s quarter final against Portugal.
Morocco are hoping to cause yet another upset following an uplifting World Cup campaign for the North African side. Morocco finished top of Group F by surprise, ahead of Belgium and Croatia who were the expected favourites. They then went on to defeat Spain on penalties in the Round of 16 against all odds following a 0-0 draw.
Manager Walid Regragui will wanting as many players fit as possible to face Portugal in a game the Moroccans are expected to line up with a 4-3-3, featuring the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Soufiane Boufal, and En Nesyri as well as the uncoverd gem in midfield Sofyan Amrabat.
