Augustana’s Jayd Docken (197 pounds) and Sean Derry (184 pounds) earned individual national rankings in the NCAA Division II preseason poll that was released Wednesday by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.

Docken enters the season ranked fifth in the nation at 197 pounds. The junior from Winner, S.D. earned All-America honors last season with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. He placed third at the Super Region Three Tournament and earned All-NSIC Second Team honors. Docken posted a record of 23-8 last season and was 6-0 against NSIC opponents.

Derry, who qualified for nationals last season at 184 pounds, enters the 2013-14 season ranked seventh in the country in his weight class. Derry finished 16-12 last year, but was forced to withdraw from the NCAA Championships due to injury. The senior placed fourth at the Super Region Three Tournament last season and finished with three pins and five major decisions on the season.

Augustana opens the season on Nov. 3 at the Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D. The Vikings will then host a quad on Nov. 15, taking on Morningside, Chadron State and the Air Force Academy.
