Bobby Fish is expected to be out of action for several weeks after undergoing surgery following NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Fish teamed with his Undisputed Era stablemates (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) to defeat Team McAfee (Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch) in the men’s WarGames match at TakeOver this past Sunday. On his post-TakeOver conference call, Paul “Triple H” Levesque said Fish suffered a laceration on his elbow during the match and was being checked out to make sure it was just the elbow.

On this week’s episode of NXT, it was announced that Fish underwent surgery to reattach his triceps after TakeOver: WarGames. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Fish is expected to return in about eight weeks.

“Bobby Fish had triceps surgery on 12/7 but it was minor, not a tear and is expected back in about eight weeks,” Meltzer wrote. “In his case it was said to be a freak accident. A piece of the cage pierced his elbow and severed the triceps.”

It was also confirmed on this week’s NXT that Candice LeRae suffered a broken arm during the women’s WarGames match at TakeOver.
