CM Punk recently offered some words of support to Jake Hager on Twitter. Hager, who was known in WWE as Jack Swagger, is heading for his first MMA fight in Bellator on Saturday, January 26.

The Tweet was in response to Hager’s video from Media Day, in which he proclaimed that neither Punk or Brock Lesnar wanted to “get punched in the face.” The Retweet of this interview made the rounds and Punk saw it. But rather than respond with negativity, Punk instead offered his support.

Hager is fighting J.W. Kiser in a match that many pro wrestling fans perhaps believed would not happen. But Jake is intent on making his mark in the world of MMA and he appears ready to do just that.

Jake is following both Punk and Lesnar into the fighting game of course, but he’s also following Dave Batista and Bobby Lashley. But Hager is surely looking to carve out his own niche and make a name for himself as the next pro wrestling star to successfully cross in Mixed Martial Arts.

You shouldn’t either. Good skill this weekend, pulling for you. https://t.co/QKjgbRKYd2
