Speaking to Nice Matin, the doctor, Gilles Dreyfus, who performed David Ginola’s quadruple bypass surgery has confirmed that the former French footballer has awoken from his coma.

“He was unconscious and remembers nothing, but he is good, I was able to speak with him. He has no neurological sequelae. He has did not have an infarction. But he did have very complicated coronary lesions which forced us to perform a quadruple bypass.”

Canal + are also reporting that Ginola is out of danger following successful quadruple bypass surgery and that it is not expected that the Frenchman will have any after effects as a result of the heart attack or as a result of the surgery.
