Kane Douglas is set to make his first appearance for Queensland off the bench, after an eight-month layoff with injury.
Douglas will play his first match since rupturing his ACL in last year’s World Cup final, coming off the pine.
He’s not the only new face in the reds side for the Canberra trip, with Taniela Tupou also in the running for his first cap, and returned Red Leroy Houston named in the reserves.
Lukhan Tui will receive a run-on debut, teaming up with Cadeyrn Neville in the second row.
With Karmichael Hunt still injured and Ayumu Goromaru’s season over, the reds have had to pull Norths Jack Tuttle into fullback, reuniting with younger brother and U20s captain James.
All the Reds Wallabies representatives will play this weekend, with James Slipper and Greg Holmes teaming up in the front row with hooker Andrew Ready.
Scrumhalf Nick Frisby will start at nine and centre Samu Kerevi will resume his role at outside centre, pairing with youngster Henry Taefu in 12.
The Reds take on the Brumbies at 7:40pm on Friday night at Canberra Stadium LIVE on FOX SPORTS.
