Gibson London has signed a deal with footwear brand Base London that will see the latter design, manufacture and distribute a range of Gibson London footwear.

According to MWB, the deal with a see a range of around 10-12 classic British styles, with the linings, trims and details typical of the brand, which uses Carnaby Street as a major reference point.

Kevin Stone, sales and marketing director of BMB Group told MWB: “We’re delighted to be working with Base London on this project, they are the perfect partner for Gibson, they understand our DNA and above all they are product people – they care about design, product and detailing, reflecting the Gibson London roots.”

For Base London, the deal fits perfectly with the strategy the brand’s currently employing, according to managing director Ian Cartwright. Since the MBO in 2007, we have embarked on a journey of transforming Base London to be able to attack different levels of the market – Gibson London is a great vehicle for delivering higher end product.”

Gibon London is part of the BMB Group, which also includes Baracuta, Melka and Pierre Cardin.
