According to South American media outlet La Tercera, former Chilean national team boss Jorge Sampaoli is in advanced talks to become the next manager of Marseille.

Sampaoli is understood to travelling to Europe imminently for talks with multiple clubs about possibly joining them for next season. He also has two financially incredible offers from the Middle East.

The report claims that talks are at such an advanced stage that Sampaoli has even begun formulating a possible backroom staff for his Marseille adventure.

His high wage demands however remain a stumbling block at the time of writing. We shall wait and see if this report is furthered by French media outlets in the coming days.
