Lena Headey, known for her portrayal of Cersei Lannister, has said that Game of Thrones’ final season will surprise people at “every turn” and described Season 8’s emotional table read.
In an interview with ET, when asked if we will see a more vulnerable or even more ruthless side of Cersei in Season 8, Headey simply responded “I think people will be surprised at every turn this season.”
When asked how Headey would like to see Cersei’s story end, she said “I think I had many fantasies about how Cersei would — if she were to — die. But I think it was, every year, anyone’s lying if they say they didn’t kind of rush to the end of each script and go, ‘Oh, PHEW!'”
In another interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Headey says “We, over the years, have not all been able to make it [for the table read] but this year, we were like ‘let’s all go,’ so it was really emotional.” When asked if it was emotional because of the script or because of the gathering, she said it was emotional “On the page, also sort of looking at each other going ‘this is it.’ We’ve all grown up with each other.”
