Le Parisien reports that Lionel Messi has become more receptive to life at Paris Saint-Germain following the departure of fellow Argentina internationals Angel Di Maria and Leandro Parades with Italian Marco Verratti become his biggest point of reference in the PSG changing room.

Whilst the relationship between Verratti and Messi could be described as a ‘bromance’, Le Parisien says it is a sign of Lionel Messi having to change some of his habits due to the departure of his closest friends a PSG, also reinforced by former PSG striker Ezequiel Lavezzi:

“It’s normal that Marco is now a point of reference for Messi,” admitted the former PSG man who is close to both players. “After the departures of Di Maria and Paredes, with whom he was always in the dressing room, he had to change some of his habits and now he has found his place in the team.”

Paris Saint-Germain don’t want to lose the two buddies now, and are hoping to extend both contracts beyond 2024 and 2025 respectively.
