According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, an agreement between OGC Nice and FC Nantes for the loan of striker Andy Delort (31) is imminent, with the Algerian international set to arrive in the Loire region to finalise the deal on Saturday. Both Nantes’ CEO Franck Kita and manager Antoine Kombouaré were instrumental in engineering the deal.

The loan, which comes with a mandatory purchase option, means that FC Nantes will be the journeyman’s eighth French club in the last ten years, during which he accrued 85 goals and 32 assists across 247 performances in France’s top flight. The 31-year-old, reported to be out of favour with recently-departed Nice manager Lucien Favre, has six goals and one assist across 14 appearances in Ligue 1 for Les Aiglons.

The striker appeared in two of Nice’s six Europa Conference League games last season, scoring once. The move to Nantes will likely see Delort appear again in European competition, as Nantes face Juventus in the Europa League in February.
