Monaco will be aiming to strengthen their grip on second place as they face Bordeaux at the Stade Louis II on Friday evening. The hosts head into the match having lost just one of their last 18 in the league and should be full of confidence after becoming the first team to defeat PSG at the Parc des Princes just before the international break. Leonardo Jardim’s side will, temporarily at least, move eight points clear of Nice with a victory.

Bordeaux, meanwhile, aren’t 100 percent safe from relegation, sitting 14th in the table and six points above the drop zone. It’s been a dreadful season for the visitors, who have won just one of their last eight league outings, and manager Ulrich Rame will be anxious to avoid a late season relegation fight.

Bordeaux did manage to beat Monaco earlier this season though, as they won 3-1 at the Matmut Atlantique.
