Fans have been attempting to predict the remaining thirteen entrants in the men’s Royal Rumble match all week long. If anyone had Roman Reigns selected as an entrant, those fans would be correct. Not long after losing the Intercontinental Championship, Reigns has his sights set on a world title match at WrestleMania. WWE announced on Friday that Reigns will officially be entering the Royal Rumble match. Obviously, Reigns won the Royal Rumble match the last time that the event was hosted in Philadelphia, so this does definitely add some intrigue as to whether or not “The Big Dog” will be able to earn a second Royal Rumble victory in the Wells Fargo Center.

WWE is going out of there way to make sure that the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match is treated like a big deal. With several spots still open for possible surprise entrants, and with the recent announcement that Stephanie McMahon will be joining the commentary team for the match, a strong female presence will be felt during the match. WWE has confirmed that AfterBuzz TV founder and longtime WWE fan Maria Menounos will be involved in this year’s Royal Rumble match. While Menounos has wrestled for WWE before, Menounos will serve as the special guest ring announcer for the match. The Royal Rumble takes place this Sunday night at 7pm ET and the two-hour kickoff show begins at 5pm ET.

As mentioned, there are still several spots remaining for the women’s Royal Rumble match. In addition to names such as Ronda Rousey, fans have mostly assumed that these spots will be filled by talents from NXT or from female WWE Legends. While details on possible surprise entrants have remained a secret, one former WWE performer has confirmed that she will not be participating in the match. Molly Holly recently told Wrestling Inc. that she will not be involved in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday. Holly seemed so confused about the news that she even called WWE to ask if they planned on using her in the match. WWE responded by telling her that the news was only the fans on the internet trying to guess who will be in the match.
