According to PWInsider.com, Samoa Joe has been pulled from the upcoming WWE MSG live event taking place on July 7th.

The event was scheduled to feature Joe facing Roman Reigns in the main event, however, Mike Johnson is now reporting the current plan is to have Roman Reigns face Jinder Mahal at Madison Square Garden. Johnson added Joe is being pulled from several more Raw brand live events for which he was previously scheduled, now that he is a member of the blue brand.

In related news, Joe is scheduled to face Roman Reigns at WWE Backlash this Sunday night, and it is expected that their brief feud will conclude after Sunday’s PPV as Joe will move back into a feud on the Smackdown brand.

As seen on WWE Smackdown this week, Joe cut a promo on AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, warning them that no matter who wins the WWE Title at Backlash, Joe is coming after the winner and the WWE Title.

It appears as if WWE is indeed planning on immediately inserting Samoa Joe into the main event picture on Smackdown Live, as Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso is reporting current plans call for Joe to feud with AJ Styles following WWE Backlash.
