You can go ahead and file this one under things we thought we’d never see. The New York Times reported on Tuesday that for the first time in its 140-year history, the esteemed Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show would include cats as part of an “official program.”
Yes, you read that right: this year America’s most prestigious dog show will feature cats. Well, one cat: a Bengal named Jungletrax. The lucky feline will take part in the official “Meet and Compete” event on Feb. 11, the show’s opening day.
It didn’t take long before the news reached Twitter, and people from all over the world had a lot to say on the matter. Reactions ranged from shock and outrage to unabashed excitement and cries of the impending apocalypse.
