Former NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa spoke with massive NXT fan Izzy ahead of the yellow-and-black brands upcoming debut on the USA Network. In their brief interview, Ciampa reveals that he’s still not cleared to return, but promises that he will be returning to a wrestling ring at some point. He also states that he was a reason that NXT went from bingo halls to selling out arenas with their annual Takeover events.

I got to lead NXT from bingo halls to Takeovers to the USA network. Not see them…lead them. It’s big. There’s a lot of rumors and speculation as to what my role is going to be. I’ve been told I will be coming back to a wrestling ring. I’ve been told I will eventually be able to wrestle again, and the sad part is no I’m not cleared yet. It is what it is. I will be there September 18th. I will be there September 25th. I will be there every time going forward. I just won’t be out in front of the crowd until this (points to neck) allows me to. I promised to mama at home that this time we’re going to take our time. So I’m excited for it…I’d be a little more excited if I could take part in it. We’ll get there soon.
