The Rusev Day tag team is no more as evidenced by Aiden English turning on Rusev only a few weeks ago before insinuating that Lana had an affair with him behind Rusev’s back. Of course, Lana and Rusev were both able to disprove English’s accusations, but that has not stopped the rivalry between the two former teammates. It appears that a major match has been selected to take place on this week’s edition of SmackDown as the company announced yesterday that Rusev and Aiden English will have the chance to settle their differences in a match during the show. These two former friends will be doing battle during SmackDown’s 1001st episode on the USA Network this Tuesday night.

Rey Mysterio is back and better than ever before in WWE. Mysterio made his full time WWE return during SmackDown’s 1000th episode this past week, and he got a huge win over United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura to qualify for the WWE World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel this November. In addition to the aforementioned bout between Rusev and Aiden English, it has been announced that Mysterio will be taking part in an interview segment during SmackDown this week. SmackDown Superstar The Miz claimed on social media yesterday that Mysterio will be joining him on Miz TV. Since this is Mysterio’s first WWE promo segment in a number of years, fans should definitely want to check out what the masked wrestler has to say.

As seen on SmackDown 1000 this past Tuesday night, former WWE Superstar Dave Batista made his first WWE appearance in over four years when he reunited with his Evolution comrades for a segment during the show. Although it all seemed peaceful for a while, Batista teased possibly facing Triple H again at some point in the near future. Prior to the show, Batista was asked about preparing for the big night, to which “The Animal” responded by telling fans the piece of advice that Vince McMahon gave him earlier that day. Despite being anxious about appearing in front of a WWE crowd again, the WWE Chairman helped assure Batista that it would be alright. The video featuring Batista’s comments can be seen down below:
“I told Vince how nervous I was, he said, ‘When you go out there, just tell them, be honest and speak from the heart.’ First thing I said, ‘I’m nervous’ because I was. I didn’t want to pull any punches, I was nervous, man.” said Batista.
