Itasca’s Tanner Reetz started out strong Saturday in the 133 gold division with a win over St. John’s Andrew Smith 13-1. He went on to take out the number three seed with an impressive 7-1 victory over Scott Amesson of Platteville. Reetz’s win streak came to an end facing off with Maleek Williams of Upper Iowa getting pinned early in the first period. Tanner had to defeat Noah Becker of St. Johns in an 8-5 decision to finish the day off in third place. Tanner was 3-1 on the day.
Two other Vikings posted wins at the event. Blake Skogstad went 1-2 on the day in the 184 silver division. Skogstad’s win came in the consolation semifinals posting a fall early in the second period against Corbin Folsom of Central. Skogstad lost a close 5-3 decision in the consolation championship round against Augsburg’s Lorenzo Hernandez.
Ethan Kiehm went 1-2 on the day in the 149 silver division. Kiehm’s win came in the consolation bracket pinning his opponent Kendall Foster of Central in the second period.

Next up for the Vikings is a triangular with Minnesota West and Iowa Lakes on November 21st in Worthington, Minn.
