The date for NXT’s next TakeOver special is officially set.
WWE announced today that NXT’s next TakeOver event will take place on Sunday, October 4. With only three television episodes remaining before TakeOver, the build to the show will kick off on tonight’s NXT.
TakeOver will begin on the WWE Network at 7 p.m. Eastern time on October 4. Further details about the show haven’t been announced.
NXT’s most recent TakeOver event was TakeOver XXX during SummerSlam weekend in August. The special ended with Karrion Kross winning the NXT Championship from Keith Lee, but Kross had to vacate the title due to a separated shoulder that he suffered during that match. Finn Balor defeated Adam Cole last week to become the new NXT Champion.
Io Shirai retained her NXT Women’s Championship against Dakota Kai at TakeOver XXX, while Damian Priest won a five-way ladder match for the vacant NXT North American Championship. Priest is making his first title defense against Timothy Thatcher on tonight’s NXT. Shirai is facing Shotzi Blackheart in a non-title match on tonight’s show.
