After being released by WWE last week, Mickie James posted a picture on social media Thursday afternoon showing a box WWE sent her that had her belongings in a trash bag with her name on it.

Both Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Stephanie McMahon took to Twitter Thursday night to publicly apologize to James and say the person responsible has been fired. It’s unknown if others involved will also be relieved of their duties. Dave Meltzer said the person involved is someone “major.”

PW Insider reported there’s been some changes in their talent relations department over the last day as director of talent relations Nicole Zeoli is no longer with WWE and senior manager of talent relations John Cone was relieved of his duties, but remains a WWE referee. It’s unclear whether those were related to the trash bag incident and if WWE had got word of others receiving a similar treatment as Levesque’s tweet alludes to.

James was part of a small round of cuts that included Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, The IIconics, and others.

CM Punk, who had his own story of how he was released from WWE, also had something to say about the situation.
