It appears that WWE is going to re-brand the NXT Takeover Brooklyn event for next years WWE WrestleMania 34 weekend, changing the name for the event.

Yesterday WWE announced that travel packages for the show will be going on sale next month which, of course, includes the NXT Takeover event which will take place on Saturday 4/6/19, just one day prior to WrestleMania.

The show will be running the Barclays Center, which WWE NXT has used for the past four SummerSlam weekends, creating WWE NXT Takeover Brooklyn (1,2,3, and 4). However, it appears that run of shows is going to stop, with WWE promoting the WrestleMania 34 weekend Takeover as “NXT Takeover: New York.”

Triple H has stated many times that the Brooklyn shows are NXT’s own versions of WrestleMania, so whether the company wants to keep those separate and at SummerSlam weekend each year remains to be seen as this will be the first time Takeover has happened in New York City over WrestleMania weekend.
