This week’s edition of WWE Smackdown was the final episode of the show before this Sunday night’s WWE Backlash PPV. The show offered not only final hype for top Backlash matches such as AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy, but the show also featured fallout from last week’s WWE Greatest Royal Rumble event.
According to ShowBuzz Daily, this week’s WWE Smackdown viewership dropped along with Raw and averaged 2.436 million. This week’s number is down from last week’s 2.549 million viewership average for a show featuring Superstar Shakeup fallout and the final hype for Greatest Royal Rumble. This week’s WWE Smackdown viewership is also a new low in 2018.
WWE Smackdown this week also featured The Miz kicking off the night with MizTV, and a main event featuring The IIconics and Carmella vs Becky Lynch, Asuka and Charlotte Flair.
This week’s WWE Smackdown ranked #5 for the night in overall cable TV viewership and was up against The NBA Playoffs which lead the night.
