After Lance Archer’s posiitive COVID-19 test took him out of a Wednesday six-man tag team match involving rival and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, the company quickly pivoted and followed up on a leftover storyline from All Out.
Moxley will now defend his title against Eddie Kingston on tonight’s Dynamite instead.
For several weeks, Kingston has said in promos that he was never officially eliminated from the Casino Battle Royale at All Out, the same match that Archer won to earn his title opportunity.
Archer said he will be gone for two weeks, but is still planning on being at the company’s anniversary edition of Dynamite in mid-October where he will face the world champion.

AEW has not yet announced alternate matches for Will Hobbs, Darby Allin, Brian Cage and Ricky Starks, but it’s assumed they will simply face each other in a tag team match instead.
AEW did announce that Miro (the former Rusev) will make his promotional debut tonight, teaming with Kip Sabian to take on Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss and that Matt Hardy and Private Party will make an appearance together as well.
