In late January at NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo, the world was stunned when the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes dropped Bullet Club leader Kenny Omega with his finishing move in the middle of the ring. The world’s greatest faction began to unravel before our eyes. The one silver lining is that in the midst of this attack, Kota Ibushi ran out to save his old friend and former tag team partner.

It was officially announced earlier this month that Kenny Omega will face Cody Rhodes in the main event of ROH Supercard of Honor in New Orleans during WrestleMania weekend. But before we get there, the six-star performer will reunite with Ibushi once more as the Golden Lovers face off against Rhodes and “The Villain” Marty Scurll in the main event of NJPW Honor Rising on February 24th.

To celebrate the reunion of one of Japan’s most intriguing and talented tag teams, NJPW has released a 30-minute documentary capturing their first practice session together in several years. The two shook out the tandem ring rust and are even working on a few new, unique double team maneuvers. That includes a combination of Omega’s V-Trigger knee strike and Ibushi’s new Kamigoye knee strike.

You can watch the entire documentary right now on New Japan World at njpwworld.com if you’re a subscriber to the service. It’s still a great time to sign up for the month of February as you have more than half the month remaining and several excellent New Beginning shows to catch up on, plus the upcoming ROH and NJPW Honor Rising tour which will stream live and free with English commentary.
